PFAS
DECODE Season 2 - Episode 2
DECODE Season 2 - Episode 2
The battle for access to safe water sources is constantly evolving. In an ever-changing world, the threats to our most precious water resources are also changing. From traditional pollutants, we now face radically new challenges that require a continuous commitment to innovation and technological development. This is the context in which historical experience is transformed into essential know-how for decoding future threats and ensuring clean water for communities.
The new enemy number one is PFAS, known as “forever chemicals,” which are the focus of global attention and are about to be regulated. But De Nora's innovation is no stranger to these challenges: leveraging decades of successful experience—such as the development of a primary method for arsenic removal, with active installations treating millions of liters per day—the company is today reaffirming its leadership in the fight against new pollutants.
The goal is to design solutions that not only comply with evolving regulations but are also the most efficient, particularly in terms of operating costs. The approach is diversified and advanced: for PFAS, solutions such as granular activated carbon (GAC) and ion exchange are offered; for other emerging contaminants, advanced oxidation processes using ozone and UV are employed.
Protecting our planet's most precious resource requires an essential combination of passion and deep expertise, combining chemistry and biology.
Customers rely on this expertise to ensure the compliance and effectiveness of their plants. Our mission is clear: to provide the best available technology and the most suitable solution for each specific customer need, in a continuous cycle of research and development of new technologies for a safer water cycle.
