Milan, October 1, 2024 – De Nora and Bracco, two historic companies in the Milan area, have joined forces to support the “Lambrate sui Muri” project, which aims to tell the story of the neighborhood through art and the creation of themed murals. The inauguration of the mural “La Lambrate Storica” (Historic Lambrate), created at Via Folli 10, was a special opportunity for the Lambrate community to meet and exchange ideas, and for companies and the local area to share experiences.
De Nora and Bracco are two international companies that still have their headquarters in the Milanese neighborhood, a bond they aim to strengthen by supporting similar initiatives, making a concrete contribution to the rebirth of the area and its artistic and cultural renewal.
The event, attended by representatives of De Nora and Bracco, also saw the participation and support of the Municipality of Milan and Municipio Zona 3, the Ufficio Arte Pubblica (Public Art Office) and the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio (Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape) for the Metropolitan City of Milan. Finally, artists Matilde Arduini and Simone Peracchi of UR Studio, who created the work, were also present.
The “Lambrate sui Muri” project is a street art initiative that aims to tell the story of the area, focusing primarily on its historic industries and the presence of the railway. The intention is to create a link between the past and the present and to celebrate the history and culture of a sometimes forgotten neighborhood.
Caterina Antola, President of Municipio 3, commented: “This new mural is tangible evidence of the vitality of our municipality, which once again sees the virtuous collaboration of associations, businesses, and institutions united by a common goal: to communicate the history and beauty of our places, letting the walls speak for themselves.”
Federico De Nora, President of De Nora, added: "De Nora's active role in the Lambrate sui Muri project once again demonstrates the company's closeness to the local community and its attention to people and the territory. The initiative fits perfectly into the tradition of giving back to the territory and local communities wherever De Nora operates around the world. De Nora has a history of over 100 years of technological innovation and for the last 70 years has kept the heart of its business right here in the Lambrate district: we are proud to be able to make a positive contribution to the citizens and to enhance, through art, the beauty and history of a neighborhood that is our home."
“Bracco's ties with Lambrate have always been very strong,” said Diana Bracco, President and CEO of the Bracco Group. "The Group's global success began at this site. A success based on innovative products resulting from our research, which later focused on contrast media. Just recently, after a long period of renovation, we returned to our home in Lambrate, to a headquarters that has been renovated with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind. This is where we have our roots and a wealth of stories, people, and values that we want to pass on to new generations. This is one of the reasons why we created the Bracco Digital Historical Archive, which recounts those roots and projects them into the future, just as Lambrate is doing. Congratulations to Caterina Antola and all those involved in this initiative, which keeps the value of memory alive in a vibrant and constantly evolving neighborhood."
