12/15/2023 - 10.00 AM

Milan, 15 December 2023Industrie De Nora, an Italian multinational listed on Euronext Milan, specializing in electrochemistry, a leader in sustainable technologies and the emerging green hydrogen industry, has won the "Top Investor in China Award” at the China Awards 2023 event, sponsored by the Italy China Foundation and MF-Milano Finanza, held at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan.

The award, now in its 18th edition, celebrates Italian and Chinese companies that have taken advantage of the business and exchange opportunities between the two countries, marking strategic collaborations and forging long-term relationships.

In particular, the Award given to De Nora testifies to the relevance of the investments made by the Group in the Chinese territory and enhances De Nora as a virtuous example of a national company that successfully managed to position itself distinctively in China by achieving outstanding industrial results.
De Nora has been present in the Chinese market for more than 30 years: at the beginning, through a joint venture, the company, now 100 percent owned by the Group, has grown to supply its electrodes and water treatment systems to major Chinese and Asian customers directly. The Center of Excellence Suzhou, which underwent a recent increase in production capacity, is the main site in the country, where electrodes for the chemical and electronics sectors, electrolyzers for thyssenkrupp Nucera for producing both chlorine and hydrogen by water electrolysis, and specific types of water treatment systems are made. The company also has a second workshop in Jinan and an office in Shanghai specifically for commercializing water filtration and disinfection systems.

Luca Buonerba, De Nora's Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, commented, "We are honored to receive this award, a concrete acknowledgment of the position achieved by De Nora as a benchmark company even in a country so far from Italy. The result rewards over 30 years of continuous and important investments in assets and the local workforce. China represents an important market that continues to grow significantly and where interesting new development prospects are confirmed. It is, therefore, our intention to further strengthen our presence thanks to the strong relationships established with the country's many customers, partners and institutions. The recent announcement of increased production capacity at the Chinese site in Suzhou aligns with the Group's objectives and is part of a broader multi-year plan to expand electrode production capacity for all applications in the portfolio."

The award ceremony was attended by more than 250 prominent guests and representatives of the Italian and Chinese industrial and institutional worlds, including the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Italy, Jia Guide, the President of Italy China Council Foundation-ICCF, Mario Boselli, and the Publisher and CEO of Class Editori, Paolo Panerai, as well as numerous institutional guests, experts, members and professionals.
