Maria Antonietta Giannelli

Maria Antonietta Giannelli is the Director Mergers & Acquisitions at Snam and her unit is responsible for the execution and finalization of all of the company's sale, purchase, merger, restructuring & partnership transactions. Maria Antonietta earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at Luiss School of Management in Rome and a degree in Economic Sciences & Finance. She started her professional career in 1999 as a financial associate in a real estate company and in 2001 she joined Enel S.p.A., the primary Italian multiutility company where she spent 22 years with managerial roles focusing mainly on international M&A, investment analysis and strategic planning. At Enel, Maria Antonietta led the execution of several expansion and rationalization deals in Iberia, Eastern Europe & Latin America. Before joining Snam in January 2025, she spent about 2 years as Head of M&A at Ferrovie dello Stato S.p.A., the Italian railway company, working on the international expansion on both passenger and freight transportation business. She has a strong experience as member of supervisory boards, boards of directors and strategic committees of some Enel’s and FS’ foreign subsidiaries. As of today she is member of the Board of Directors of Bioenerys S.p.A., Snam’s fully owned subsidiary and leader in the biomethane production sector and of the Board of Directors of dCarbonX, Snam’s UK subsidiary active in the development of gas, CO2 and hydrogen storage projects in Uk and Ireland.
