Municipal Reuse

Municipal reuse of wastewater is increasing in use to offset scarce water resources and improve overall water usage. Water reuse usually falls into one of two categories, reuse for irrigation purposes or for direct or indirect potable reuse, which requires higher treatment standards. De Nora has extensive experience supplying the additional technologies needed to treat your secondary wastewater to a higher standard.

Aquifer Storage and Recovery

Increasingly, water is being treated and recovered for re-injection into groundwater sources that are stressed from overuse. This water needs to be treated to very high standards prior to injection. De Nora can help with filtration, disinfection*, contaminants of emerging concern (CEC) and trace contaminant removal to treat and polish this water for reuse.

Treated Secondary Effluent

Wastewater can be treated for use in irrigation and other reuse applications. Depending on the quality of the water from the wastewater plant, simple media filtration and disinfection may be required. If additional treatment is needed, reverse osmosis is often employed. De Nora can provide top-of-the-line technology for all of these processes.
