Global Support / Customer Service

A powerful oxidant with a fast reaction time, no added chemicals, and reduced disinfection by-products, ozone is an appealing and growing option for wastewater and water treatment.

De Nora offers reliable, robust, and proven ozone solutions backed by extensive global experience. With more than 45 years of experience solving some of the toughest problems and treating the most challenging pollutants including hydrocarbons, surfactants, and phenols for water treatment.

De Nora is one of the original pioneers of ozone and advanced oxidation treatment solutions. Systems range in size from 20 PPD (500g/h) up to 6,000 lb/day (113 kg/h) and offer flexibility, reliability, and cost advantages.

De Nora can also pair your ozone generator with DE NORA TETRA® biological filters for a multi-barrier approach or with a Capital Controls® UV system to create even more powerful Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) chemistry to combat the most challenging of contaminants in water.

Why Capital Controls ozone systems for water treatment?

Ozone

Reliable and robust technology

  • Precisely designed for simple, long lasting, and energy-saving operation.
  • Robust mechanical arrangement of the proprietary XTL™ dielectric decreases maintenance and increases uptime.
  • Choose O3-SAFEGUARD™ dielectric electronic control, individual fuse protection, or a combination of the two for higher process monitoring and reliability.

Flexible solutions

  • From a single component to a complete packaged system that generates up to 6,000 pounds (113 kg/h) of ozone per day. Regardless of size or application, we can help you choose the right system the first time.
  • De Nora experts support customers with on-site piloting and lab-scale testing in containerized plug-and-play pilot packages. You can use ozone where you need it and when you need it.
  • Capital Controls Ozone systems use standard, globally available components, making aftersales support easier, quicker, and less expensive.

Experience and expertise

  • Unmatched ozone experience, offering solutions since 1970.
  • More than 1,500 Capital Controls Ozone generators have been installed around the world. Wherever you are located, we can service and support your system.
  • Expertise across a range of applications: drinking water, municipal and industrial wastewater, water reuse, and remediation. Partner with De Nora to choose the right kind of treatment for your challenges.
  • De Nora offers a wide range of piloting and water testing capabilities comparing ozone with ozone AOP approaches to define the best solution for each application.

Capital Controls Ozone Municipal Drinking Water Applications

Capital Controls Ozone Municipal Drinking Water Applications
  • Typical municipal drinking water applications include Contaminants of Emerging Concern: 1,4-Dioxane, pharmaceutical micropollutants, personal care products.
  • TOC reduction.
  • Disinfection (Cryptosporidium, Giardia and viruses).
  • Disinfection byproduct mitigation (THM, HAA, Chlorate).
  • Iron and Manganese oxidation.
  • Taste and Odor, and color removal.
  • H2S oxidation.
  • Cyanobacteria (blue algae) and mycotoxins oxidation (MIB2).

Some of these challenges require an approach combining ozone with AOP or advanced filtration technologies.

Capital Controls Ozone Wastewater Applications

  • Contaminants of Emerging Concern: 1,4-Dioxane and pharmaceutical micropollutants and personal care products.
  • Biological sludge reduction.
  • Recalcitrant organic molecules (COD and TOC).
  • Disinfection (E.coli viruses).
  • Odor & color removal.
  • Direct or indirect potable reuse.
  • Oxidation of specific molecules (surfactants, hydrocarbons, phenols, cyanide).

For most of these applications, ozone is applied as an advanced oxidation process, rather than a standalone technology.

Capital Controls Ozone Success Story: Italian Based Industrial Company Uses Ozone Generators

An Italian company based near Rome produces a large quantity of biodiesel. It is primarily produced from used frying oils sourced from Italy, France, Spain and Holland. Their primary issue was higher recalcitrant COD after the biological stage with a significant increase in GAC consumption.

De Nora Water Technologies provided a solution with advanced oxidation using ozone to reduce GAC consumption. The system has been in successful operation since 2014.

  • Design Capacity: 17 kg/h ozone generator.
  • Product: Ozone.
  • System installed: 1 unit.
  • Value delivered: A More Economical Option to Reduce GAC Consumption.
